Another True Friend card...

In the flurry of the kids, the husband and everyday life... I find the time to throw on a little glitter and create some works of heart!
I love cards with asian flair to them. So it's no wonder that I love the Embrace life stamp set for it's bamboo style stamp. I made this fabulous card using the chocolate satin ribbon that was sold for a limited time in the Holiday 2007 Mini Catalog, but never fear, even though this is no longer available this way you can still get your hands on this fabulous ribbon by purchasing the Ribbon Originals Theater Ribbon set. This has to be my all time favorite ribbon that is for SURE!!!!
The Embrace Life stamp set has become one of my most favorite sets here lately and I guess I am going to have to buy my very own (currently I am borrowing my moms) because I can't imagine life without this! Be on the lookout for more great cards using this fabulous set!!!

This lovely card was done using the "faux silk" technique! I just love the look of this card. The photo does not do it justice that is for sure! If you want to see this technique in person be sure to contact me to book a workshop and I can show this technique to you and your friends! It really is oh faux fun!
Labels: Techniques, Thank You
A little birdie once told me....that Stampin UP! is THE BEST!

I want to take a moment here on Thanksgiving Eve to give thanks to you...my blog readers and those of you who are customers and friends of mine. I appreciate each of you for so many different reasons and I could NOT have a successful business with Stampin UP! without you!
Stamps: Give Thanks

This fabulous card just makes me giddy for fall. (notice it's a bit crooked...I blame that on the starbucks LOL.... ah, it's homemade..makes it a Sloman Original right!) anyhoot... the trees (from Lovely As a Tree) is direct stamped on Cork (yup, like as in corkboard) and then matted onto Close to Cocoa cardstock and slapped (crooked I might add) onto the stamped card base. Such a fun card and when using cork as your focal image layer, you don't need any other "embellishments"! This was another project from my Covering Cork class that was held in September.
