Saving the Youth of America...

So last night was my Hostess Club meeting....at the meeting I showed a technique to make your very own Paint Chip strips using the SU Spectrum Pads. I explained to them how the "rage" seems to be stopping at the big hardware stores and snagging some paint chips then stamping them and all that to use on cards and in scrapbook pages. I remember a time when those small strips of wallpaper samples were free, and now they charge for them. I said there will likely come a time when the Depot catches on to us crazy crafters using their "free" paint chips for everything BUT buying their paint and will soon charge us for them..but it will likely happen in our childrens adult hood, and by buying their very own Spectrum Pads they are certainly Saving the Youth of America from being charged for Paint Chips in their adult life!!! All the girls got a great kick out of that and the definately enjoyed learning how to create these beautiful cards.

This one is done using the Cotton Candy SU Spectrum Pad and using a "Direct to Paper" technique (essentially just laying the white cardstock across the top of the ink pad)
And this one was made using our Brayer - You will ink up the brayer with the Cotton Candy SU Spectrum Pad and then "roll" the brayer (rubber attachment) across the cardstock.
Two very different looks but BOTH are fabulous...and we can't forget protecting our Youth!!!

Supplies Used:
Year After Year Stamp Set, Hugs & Wishes Stamp Set, Cotton Candy Spectrum Pad, Brayer, Regal Rose Cardstock, Rose Red Classic Ink Pad, Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon

They Say It's Your Birthday....

This is a fabulous little card that I made yesterday using Zoofari. One of the brand new adorable stamp sets in the 2007 Fall Winter Catalog! Isn't it so cute! I also used the phrase from "Its Your Birthday" that says "They Say it's your birthday" because I thought that was so cute to have the Rhino with the little birdie on his back. This card is my Make & Take for this months workshops and ironically I had a birthday party to attend yesterday and forgot to make a card and though "Hey that one is PERFECT" so I made a make & take up yesterday myself at the workshop I taught!

Mini Tag Accordian Album Tutorial

Here it is - the much anticipated tutorial!!!
Tag It Mini Album
Tutorial by : Elizabeth Sloman
Ind. Stampin UP! Demonstrator

Images Copyright Stampin UP! 1990-2007

Supplies Needed:
Chipboard (2 pieces 3”x6”)
Patterned Paper (2 pieces 5” x 8” and 1 piece 3x3, plus other misc. for decorating)
Ribbon – Grosgrain & Gingham (1 pc. 18” Grosgrain, and four smaller pieces for tags)
Solid Color Cardstock (for tags)
12x12 Neutral Color Cardstock (white or vanilla)
Stamps & Ink Pads
Hardware pieces to use for accents
Tag punches & Handheld Rectangle Punch
Instructions:
Score 12 x 12 Cardstock @ 6”, turn 90 degrees and then score at 3”, 6”, 9”
This should give you 8 panels that are each 3 x 6
Fold in half and then mountain/valley fold on the 3, 6, 9 score lines Adhere patterned paper to chipboard using SNAIL or Sticky Strip
Using the Scoring Tool from the Stampin UP! Cutter Kit, score the patterned paper along the edges of the chipboard to ease in folding over Cut each of the four corners of paper off Apply SNAIL Adhesive to each of the remaining strips then “wrap” around the edge of cardstock and adhere – Repeat for the other piece of Chipboard as well Find center of long Grosgrain Ribbon piece and adhere to inside of back cover

Stamp 12x12 piece of cardstock using your choice of stamps and inks

Refold cardstock on score lines and attach front and back covers Open up book and fold down the far right and far left corners Using cutter, cut the 3x3 pieces of patterned paper on the diagonal and adhere each triangle to one of the fold down corners Using the Square punch, punch out a notch in each of the center panels (by only placing the punch halfway into the paper) Place ribbons through top of tags after punching a hole using the Handheld Rectangle punch and then place inside tag book.
Stamp image for front cover and adhere
Adhere the tag and shape clip to the front cover
You can also choose to do more decorating of the tags or inside of book using extra pieces of patterned paper

Tri Fold Photo Wallet

this is a cute little tri fold wallet that I made. I cased the idea from Sudsol - a great Stampin UP! demonstrator shared how to make these on there and I just HAD to try my hand at it. I changed mine up some *(colors, stamps etc), but the general "idea" is the same, so I guess I didn't really copy and steal everything LOL!

I will post a tutorial on how to do this later - it's too late to try that now because I'm sure I will mess something up!

Tri-fold Photo Wallet Supplies used:

Polka Dots & Petals Stamp Set, Polka Dots & Paisley Stamp Set, Inks: Tempting Turqoise, Pixie Pink, So Saffron, Cardstock: Whisper White, Tempting Turqoise, Pixie Pink, So Saffron, Accessories: Petals & Paisley Designer Series paper, Spiral Punch, Round Tab Punch, Hodgepodge Hardware, Grosgrain Ribbon

Oh lookie..now I can put in titles...

Wow, so the title line has been "broken" for a few days and I haven't been able to include a "real" title for any postings on either blog, but all of a sudden now it works! Hooray!

Hmmm for some odd reason I cannot seem to put in a "title" for this posting...

Oh well, regardless I wanted to share a cute little card with you. I created this sweet thing using some of the Palllette O' Prints Double Sided Designer Paper from Stampin UP! and one of our FABULOUS new Hostess Stamp sets - In The Spotlight.
The best thing is that I created the scalloped edge on the designer paper using our SLIT PUNCH!!! WOWSA! Isn't that super cool!
I'll be sure to hop on tomorrow and post a tutorial on how to do that!

Fabulous Father...

I know Fathers Day has passed, but I never did get a chance to share this years Fathers Day card due to us being out of town. Regardless this would make for a great birthday card for dear ol' dad as well!

I used Garden Green, Sahara Sand and Creamy Caramel Cardstock. I used Chocolate Chip Ink Pad (for background) as well as Garden Green and Creamy Caramel. The edges were distressed using the Stampin UP! Tool Kits Distressing Tool. Isn't that FABULOUS! Sure does save me alot of wear and tear on my fingernails. I love that little thing! The Stamp Sets used were Well Worn Alphabet and Canvas Background!

I love the way this one turned out!
